Terms of use
Last updated 22 October 2026
HAZOP Helper is a free tool that gives process and safety engineers a first draft of a HAZOP worksheet to prepare for a team study. By using it you accept these terms.
A draft, not a HAZOP
- Every worksheet is a draft for HAZOP preparation only. It must be reviewed by a qualified HAZOP team before anyone relies on it.
- A draft does not know your plant. Tags, pressures, set points, safeguards and risk rankings are placeholders until your team confirms them against your own drawings, data and procedures.
- Do not submit a draft to a regulator, client or insurer as a completed HAZOP, and do not use it to decide that a safeguard is adequate. Use your company procedures, risk matrix and LOPA for that.
- Rows marked "AI draft, not reviewed" were written by AI or assembled automatically and have not been checked by an engineer.
No warranty
The tool is provided as it is, without any warranty that it is complete, correct or fit for a particular purpose. You and your organisation stay responsible for the safety of your design and operation. To the extent the law allows, the author is not liable for any loss arising from use of the tool or its drafts.
What you put in
- Do not type confidential company information, drawings or data into the tool unless you are authorised to share it. Company P&IDs are usually confidential. P&ID upload is not offered on this site.
- Free AI drafts are limited per visitor and per day so the service stays free. Do not try to get around the limits.
- Use the flag and request forms for genuine feedback only.
Sources
Rows cite public documents by title and page so you can read the original. Those documents belong to their publishers. The citations are short references, not copies. See the sources page.
Changes
The tool and these terms may change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
